Alaska Behavioral Health provides a wide range of services for young people ages 13-24 who are experiencing mental/behavioral health challenges, with or without co-occurring substance use.
Power Center -Youth Outreach and Drop In – Alaska Behavioral Health operates a peer-driven program which supports homeless and at-risk youth through a drop-in center, street outreach, and educational presentations.
Alaska Seeds of Change – is a vocational program that engages transition age youth and teaches vocational and independent living skills, with links to clinical services on-site. Youth learn to grow and sell fresh vegetables in an indoor hydroponic greenhouse setting.
Child & Family Clinic (Therapy) – We provide a wide range of therapeutic services to adolescents, with their families when appropriate. We focus on trauma-informed care using evidence-based practices. Therapy may take place at our Child & Family Clinics, at Alaska Seeds of Change or the POWER Center in Anchorage, in school-settings, or via teletherapy. A variety of psychoeducation and skill-building groups are offered on a rotating basis.
Intensive Services for Children & Teens – Our Child & Family clinic offers intensive services for children and teens through age 17 who require more support than weekly therapy.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program meets at the POWER Center location, outside of school hours. Clients attend from 1 to 5 days per week depending on need and availability. The program is focused on skill development to help clients function in home, community and school settings. Staff have received additional training in the treatment of eating disorders using Integrated Modalities Therapy and specialized support is available.
Our Day Treatment Programs (also called Partial Hospitalization Program or PHP) in Anchorage and Fairbanks serve young people ages 9 – 17 with short-term, intensive therapy and skill building to address significant mental health needs. Older transition-age youth may attend our Partial Hospitalization Program for Adults.
Psychiatric and Primary Care are offered through Medical Department. Providers coordinate care with our therapy teams for integrated, whole-person care.
